Why I think supplements are so important.

Firstly I would like to make it clear that supplements should never be used to replace a healthy diet, but that being said supplements can be great to add to your already healthy diet! Vitamin supplements are especially important in my opinion as so many people are not getting enough vitamins from their diet, for example a lot of people work in offices all day or work from the comfort of their homes and do not get enough sunlight. This can be a huge issue and can negatively effect our health! This is because we get vitamin D from the sun which is a hugely important supplement as it helps us absorb calcium. So I would highly recommend anyone who works inside everyday to supplement vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency can be detrimental to your health can even make you feel depressed! So if you know that you don't get enough sunlight and you feel constantly tired and you have low mood then maybe vitamin D deficiency is the reason. So in my opinion I think that everyone should consider supplementing Vitamin D especially if you don't get enough sunlight.

Fish oil:

What do I think about fish oil? Well fish oils are by far my favourite supplement mainly because I felt a huge difference within days of taking them. So what are the potential health benefits from supplementing fish oils? Well to be honest there are to many to mention! Fish oils are great for heart health, brain health, artery health and can lower blood pressure! The main noticeable benefit that I noticed was definitely my mood and clarity. Within a few days of taking 3000mg of fish oil supplements each day I felt happier and had much less brain fog. This was a huge benefit and it didn't go away! To this day is still am experiencing the benefits from supplementing fish oil and I would recommend anyone who wants a slight boost to definitely start taking fish oil. Not only do many people swear by fish oils but the science is very promising as well, for example it has been proven that the fatty acids EPA and DHA are involved in regulating various biological processes such as the inflammatory response, various metabolic signaling pathways, and brain function. So I again recommend everyone to supplement fish oils!!



Creatine:

Creatine has worked wonders for me! Creatine is another supplement that I take that gave me results in under a week. Who is creatine for? Well creatine is a highly praised supplement amongst the fitness industry and is actually the most researched supplement on the market to this day. But many people who do not partake in sports can benefit from creatine. In fact oral creatine administration may improve short-term memory and intelligence/reasoning of healthy individuals but its effect on other cognitive domains remains unclear. Scientific findings suggest potential benefit for aging and stressed individuals. Personally I didn't notice any difference in my cognitive function when I started taking creatine but this may be because I wasn't looking out for any cognitive benefits as I use creatine purely for its physical benefits. So what benefits did I notice? Within a week of taking creatine I noticed that I looked much fuller and felt that the pumps I was getting better pumps in the gym and they lasted a lot longer. After a few weeks to a month of taking creatine a definitely felt a boost in strength especially on compound lifts such as bench press. Due to my great personal experience with supplementing creatine I would highly recommend anyone who takes part in sports and fitness to give it a go. There is no concrete evidence to suggest that creatine can improve cognitive function so I cant personally recommend it for people who want to improve their cognitive function.
